Tickets
Championship+ Grounds Tickets for the Thursday through Sunday championship rounds have sold out. If you're hoping to attend those days, verified resale tickets are available through SeatGeek, the official resale ticket provider for the PGA of America.
Don't overlook practice round tickets for Monday through Wednesday. They're significantly cheaper, the crowds are smaller, and you can get much closer to the players. You'll often see pros interacting with fans, signing autographs, and taking more relaxed approaches to their practice. For many people, practice rounds are actually the better spectator experience.
One perk worth knowing: ticketed adults can bring up to two kids ages 15 and under for free each day. And all Championship+ tickets include complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages at concession stands throughout the course, so you won't be nickel-and-dimed for every hot dog and water bottle once you're inside the gates.
Where to Stay
Aronimink Golf Club is in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles west of downtown Philadelphia. You have two real options for lodging: stay near the course in the western suburbs, or stay in downtown Philly and commute to the course each day.
Staying near the course puts you closer to the action but limits your hotel options and restaurant choices. Staying in Philadelphia gives you access to one of the best food cities in America, better nightlife, more hotel inventory at more price points, and the commute to Newtown Square is about 25-35 minutes depending on traffic.
For budget-friendly options, look at hotels along the Route 30 corridor in the western suburbs. For a full Philadelphia experience, consider hotels near Rittenhouse Square or Center City. Either way, book early — hotel prices in the area spike during PGA Championship week.
Getting There
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the closest major airport, about 20 miles from Aronimink Golf Club. It's an American Airlines hub with direct flights from most major US cities. From the airport to the Newtown Square area, plan on a 30-40 minute drive depending on traffic.
If you're staying in downtown Philly, you'll want a rental car or rideshare to get to the course each day. The PGA of America typically runs shuttle service from designated parking areas, but driving yourself gives you the most flexibility, especially if you want to leave early or stay late.
Parking details are usually announced a few weeks before the tournament. Check pgachampionship.com for the official parking map and shuttle information as it becomes available.
What to Bring
Wear comfortable walking shoes — you'll cover 5-8 miles on a tournament day without even trying. Aronimink is a hilly course and your feet will feel every mile if you're in sandals or dress shoes.
Dress code is generally smart casual. No jeans with holes, no tank tops, no flip flops. Collared shirts are a safe bet but not always strictly required. Layers are smart for May in Pennsylvania — mornings can be cool and afternoons warm.
Other essentials: sunscreen (you're outside for hours with limited shade), a hat, sunglasses, a portable phone charger (no outlets on the course), and a small clear bag if the tournament requires it. Most major championships have bag policies, so check the PGA Championship website for the current rules before you go. Binoculars are allowed and genuinely useful for watching approach shots and putts from a distance.
Cell phones are typically permitted but check the specific rules for the year — policies vary by tournament.
Where to Eat
Don't sleep on Philadelphia's food scene. It's one of the most underrated food cities in the country. On-course, the Championship+ ticket format means your food and non-alcoholic drinks are included, which is a significant upgrade from most tournament experiences.
Off-course, if you're staying in Philly, hit Reading Terminal Market for an overwhelming variety of food stalls, try a roast pork sandwich (the city's best-kept secret that locals will fight about), and explore the restaurant scene around Rittenhouse Square or Passyunk Avenue. If you're staying closer to the course, the Main Line suburbs have solid restaurant options in towns like Wayne, Ardmore, and Bryn Mawr.
For sit-down dinners, making reservations in advance is smart during tournament week since the area will be busier than usual.
About The PGA Championship
The PGA Championship is one of golf's four major championships and the only major run by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. First played in 1916, it has grown into one of the strongest fields in professional golf, featuring every top player in the world competing for the iconic Wanamaker Trophy. The PGA Championship moved from its traditional August slot to May in 2019, making it the second major of the calendar year.
2026 PGA Championship Dates
The 108th PGA Championship will be held from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17, 2026. Practice rounds begin Monday, May 11 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia.
Defending Champion: Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler claimed his first Wanamaker Trophy at the 2025 PGA Championship, winning by five strokes at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. It was Scheffler's third career major title at the time (adding to two Masters wins in 2022 and 2024), and cemented his status as the dominant force in professional golf. He went on to win the 2025 Open Championship for his fourth major. He'll return to defend his PGA title in 2026 at a very different style of course.
About Aronimink Golf Club

Aronimink Golf Club was founded in 1896 and features a course designed by legendary architect Donald Ross, commissioned in 1926 and opened in 1928. Ross himself reportedly said of his work at Aronimink: "I intended to make this my masterpiece."
The club has hosted significant championships before, including the 1962 PGA Championship (won by Gary Player), the 1977 U.S. Amateur, and the 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Notably, Aronimink is the first venue to host all three of the PGA of America's rotating major championships. The course sits about 15 miles west of downtown Philadelphia in the suburb of Newtown Square, Delaware County.
What Makes The PGA Championship Unique
Unlike the other three majors, the PGA Championship is exclusively for professional golfers. No amateurs compete. The field is typically the deepest of all four majors, bringing together PGA Tour, LIV Golf, and DP World Tour stars alongside PGA of America club professionals who qualify through the PGA Professional Championship.
Watching a local club pro tee it up alongside Scottie Scheffler is one of the things that makes this tournament special. The winner receives the Wanamaker Trophy, named after Rodman Wanamaker, the Philadelphia-born department store magnate who helped establish the championship.
How to Watch
The PGA Championship broadcast is split between ESPN (Thursday and Friday coverage) and CBS (Saturday and Sunday coverage). ESPN+ provides extended streaming coverage throughout the week, including featured groups and featured holes.
