Gear: adidas Adizero ZG - Golf Australia Magazine

[ad_1]

Featuring a newly engineered DYNAMIC TORSION plate, the Adizero ZG helps reduce power leak and fatigue, ensuring golfers stay fresh throughout their round. Available in both laced and BOA® options for men and women, the new range has launched globally on via adidas.com, the adidas app, and select retailers.

With golfers spending an average of 162 hours a year on their feet, adidas set out to address foot fatigue while enhancing traction, stability, and comfort. The result is a lightweight design that doesn’t compromise on performance.

“A golfer’s feet and footwear are crucial not just for their swing but for their overall enjoyment of the game,” said Masun Denison, Global Footwear Director, adidas Golf. “Adizero ZG is the next step in our journey to provide a lightweight solution with technology that tackles key areas like traction, stability, and comfort – all in a spikeless silhouette.”

adidas athlete Ludvig Åberg shared his excitement about the new footwear: “For me, shoes are another critical piece of equipment. They need to perform, be comfortable, and look good. The Adizero ZG ticks all the boxes. I was particularly impressed with the traction and stability while still being so lightweight. It’s great to play a small role in helping bring these innovations to life – adidas continues to lead the way in golf footwear design.”

Key Features of the Adizero ZG:

Lightweight Traction:

  • The SPIKEMORE outsole features newly engineered undercut lugs around the perimeter, increasing lateral stability and providing adaptive traction to suit different terrains.
  • A secondary cone-shaped traction system keeps golfers level on uneven surfaces while reducing clogging to maximise grip.

Lightweight Comfort:

  • The midsole combines LIGHTSTRIKE and LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning, keeping golfers close to the ground while delivering supreme comfort.
  • An engineered tongue, INSITE™ 2.0 sockliner, and a moulded heel cushionborrowed from adidas’ Adizero running shoes – provide targeted padding for a better fit and improved feel.

Dynamic Motion:

  • A newly designed DYNAMIC TORSION plate extends from midfoot to forefoot, delivering energy rebound while preventing rollover and power leak during the follow-through.
  • Added arch support promotes smooth walking, reducing fatigue during and after the round.
  • The medial outsole is softer and curved for smoother movement, while the lateral side has a sharper edge for added control.

The waterproof upper is made from adidas’ premium SPRINTSKIN material, a multi-layer construction designed to provide a lightweight, adaptive fit with an athletic aesthetic. A reinforced heel clip further enhances stability.

For those seeking a custom fit, adidas has introduced a BOA® model featuring a PRIMEKNIT sock-like construction and the micro-adjustable Li2 dial. The BOA® system is seamlessly integrated into the upper, delivering a sleek, locked-in feel.

The Adizero ZG is now available in a range of colourways for men, women, and juniors, with both laced and BOA®.
