Scottie Scheffler, the current top-ranked player globally, will head into the weekend with a commanding three-shot lead at the prestigious $20 million Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour.
On Friday, Scottie Scheffler showcased an impressive display of ball-striking skills at Muirfield Village, leaving spectators in awe of his precision and control on the golf course.
The American surged ahead at the halfway mark, securing the lead with three birdies on the front nine.
His round began to unravel when Scheffler lost shots at the 11th and 13th holes.
However, the Masters champion concluded his round impressively by playing the last four holes at three-under par, highlighted by a remarkable eagle on the par-5 15th.
His impressive score of four-under 68 puts him in a commanding lead, with a three-shot advantage over Adam Hadwin and the defending champion Viktor Hovland.
After his second round, Scheffler was promptly questioned by a reporter about whether golf currently feels ‘easy’ for him.
“Easy is definitely not the right word,” he said.
“I feel like what I love about this game is how difficult it is.”
“I love coming out here and competing against the best players in the world on the best golf courses, and this is obviously a pretty challenging track.”

He continued: “I love kind of the — I really just love competing out here, and I don’t really think about whether or not it’s easy or hard, and some days I play good and some days I don’t, and outside of that, I’m just out here trying to compete.”
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy (71) and Xander Schauffele (73) are also inside the top-10.
Notable players to miss the 36-hole cut included Jordan Spieth, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler.
